New Years Resolutions For Your Home 2020

Firstly, I’d like to wish you a Happy New Year and I hope you had a great Christmas too. In the spirit of new beginnings there is no better time to invest in your home and come up with some resolutions that will make it more efficient, clean and beautiful in 2020.

De-Clutter

Every year we acquire a mountain of stuff and it’s important to regularly clear the clutter. This is probably the most time-consuming job but it will also be the most satisfying. Not only does it make your home cleaner but being more organised and only keeping things you use and love is a natural mood booster. Clean out the cupboards of old food and your drawers of clothes you no longer wear and donate them to charity – trust me you will feel better for it.

Be More Green

If everybody made one simple eco-friendly change to their home, together we would significantly impact the Earth. Switch to energy-saving light bulbs, double glazing, install some loft and cavity wall insulation, switch to a SMART meter to be accountable for the amount of energy/water you are using, upgrade your boiler, simply turn the TV’s off stand by and don’t linger to long looking into the fridge. Not only are these changes good for the environment they are good for your bank balance – it’s a win win!

Let Me Entertain You

Every festive season we like to rekindle with old family and friends always wishing you hadn’t left it so long since the last time your saw each other. If life is continually getting in the way of spending time with the people you love then why not open up your home for entertaining. Simply by investing in a new extending dining table and additional chairs, some new vinyl tiled flooring (durable and easy to clean up any spillages) and a good sound system your dining and living rooms will be ready for a party. Or if you prefer a more relaxing night in with friends get a new corner sofa which is great for lounging and always remember that an additional pouffe doubles up as extra seating!

Keep the House Clean

Similarly to the effect of de-cluttering, keeping your house clean is not only a bit of exercise but having a nice and shiny scrubbed and dust free home is a natural mood booster. Coming home to a clean home can instantly relax you after a stressful day.   Plumping up the sofa cushions, hoovering behind the sofa and under the bed and steam cleaning the carpet are all jobs we put off so why not make it your New Years Resolution to get them out-of-the-way early.

Replace Your Worn Out Furnishings

Once you’re left only surrounded by what you love and use you may notice some of your furnishings have become dated or worn. Well-made furniture, like what we sell here at Reynolds, with the right care can last for many years. But did you know the National Sleep Federation suggests you change your mattress every 8 years and it’s also usually cheaper to buy a new suite than to get replacement seat interiors and it re-upholstered.

So, if you are feeling inspired this New Year to give your home a breath of fresh air then come and take advantage of our Winter Sale. Everything in store and online has been reduced, we are also clearing a lot of shop models from the floor as great prices to make room for new models to come in.
